The Maritimo 550 Offshore Convertible.
When Maritimo CEO Bill Barry-Cotter decided it was time his award-winning yard targeted the game fishing market, he knew he had to create a vessel that would look perfectly at one with the elements when hunting the giant black marlin that roam the waters off Far North Queensland.
The Maritimo team achieved that aim and did it in style with the introduction of the ‘boisterous battlewagon’ the Maritimo 550 Offshore Convertible.
Named as the Australian Marine Industries Federation ‘Fishing Boat of the Year (Over 10.0-metres) for 2008, this is a boat that has already been ‘blooded in battle’ against the top game boats and come out trumps.
Several features set the Maritimo convertible on the way to success; the hull is a masterpiece, an advanced, variable deadrise design enhancing blue water performance like no other.
With acute seven degree shaft angles, effective weight distribution and standard engine package of dual Caterpillar C12 Marine Diesels delivering 715hp each, she’s the most efficient Bluewater battler on the market, and with the optional Cat C18’s this fabulous vessel can top out at an incredible 37.5 knots.
An efficient game fishing platform in every sense, her crew enjoy understated elegance aboard, with spacious staterooms, saloon, superb galley and a well planned flying bridge.
All class, all Maritimo, no doubt about it.
