The all-new Maritimo 56 to be launched at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show will herald a slightly new era for the Maritimo Cruising Motor Yacht range. For a start, the new 56 will be the first Maritimo not to sport the trademark ‘wings’ on the flybridge. Further, the new 56 will have a sleeker look with a more raked bow and a slightly longer flybridge.

However, the new 56 will be distinctly Maritimo in many other ways. The internal staircase to the flybridge, the big walkaround decks, the nine-degree shaft angles are all trademark Maritimo features that are retained in this stunning new vessel.

The new boat will have a three-cabin, two-bathroom layout similar to that in the current 52, but it will have a larger main stateroom and an altogether bigger feel than the 52. The stateroom is to port with its own private ensuite bathroom. There will be a VIP double cabin forward with ensuite access to the second bathroom and a bunk cabin to port which will house the washer/dryer.

The main saloon will be huge and perfect for entertaining. The staircase will to port with an L-shaped lounge forward of that. A second lounge/dinette is to starboard and a sliding door giving direct access to the deck is also to starboard.
Aft is the beautifully-appointed galley which will reside on the same level as the saloon and have direct access to the cockpit via the three-way sliding doors.

Australians love a big cockpit and the new 56 will not disappoint in this important area. The cockpit will have a comfortable lounge with optional dinette, plus a big freezer and barbecue in the ‘boot’.

However the big news is in the boarding platform. The boarding platform will be huge and be able to be lifted up to 400mm above the water or lowered to 400mm below the water – great for swimming, driving the tender on and lifting out of the water, or just sitting on a deck chair cooling your heels – literally!

Entertainers and skippers alike will appreciate the big new flybridge.

Entertainers will love it for its roominess and views. For its dinette, lounge and for its fridge and clean-up area, not to mention the large back veranda where you can enjoy the views from outside.

Skippers will appreciate the new big flybridge not only for its comfort and the vision it affords. It will also offer twin helm seats behind a vast console which will have all the room you need for the big screens for navigation, and the controls and systems monitoring for the pair of 715hp C12 Caterpillar engines lurkng below.

The C12s will comfortably, and more importantly economically, lift the 56 to an easy cruise speed of 25 knots with more in reserve.

The new Maritimo 56 Cruising Motor Yacht will certainly be a standout boat at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show and a standout boat for Maritimo.
